What is Tessellation?

Tessellation is a tiling pattern created by assembling infinitely repeated geometrical shapes.

The tessellation concept was developed in the US in the 1960s and has since been incorporated in the mathematics curriculum in many countries in the world (including Singapore).

Tessellation allows children to develop mathematical thinking and creativity in the most natural way as they move, rotate, and turn over the basic shapes of triangle, square, and hexagon, which are the basic shapes of tessellation.

Example:

To capture the attention of children, Tessell applies various elements of aesthetics in coming up with the bright colours and interesting shapes used in the tessellation puzzle.

While playing on the tessellation play mat, children can see and feel the geometrical repetition of the shapes and this greatly improves their creativity, space perception and shaping ability.

Who can use the product?
It is recommended for children aged from 1+ but as a play mat, it can also be used by younger babies.

What is the maximum weight that the rocking horse can take?
30kg.

How can the mat be cleaned?
Wipe it using a cloth and water.

Optional: Add a few drops of baby cleaner (those widely used for washing baby’s bottles and accessories) to the water.

Does the mat come with a warranty?
The supplier provides a 14-day warranty against manufacturing defects so customers should check the mat once they receive it and inform us within 7 days if they find any problem.
